    Meaning of Tattoo Stencils

Tattoo Stencils are the layouts or the outline of the tattoo design a person wants to be tattooed on the skin. The designer is printed on carbon paper or hectograph that simply transfers the design a person demands. It reduces the chances of mistakes and exactly creates the print according to the client’s wish.

Moreover, before the drawing, an artist can show the outline to the client to ensure that, whether he wants that design or not.

Difference between a Regular and Professional Tattoo Stencil

Tattoo stencils can be regular or professional. Regular stencils are cheap stencils for artists who do not afford a pricy professional stencil.

A regular stencil can be your printer as well. This might be surprising for you, but that’s true. You can create a home stencil with a printer and a computer, and we will discuss it in detail later. But the point is why these are called regular stencils. Professional stencils are much more expensive as they use professional carbon printer ink, while a regular printer uses the regular ink of the computer, and this type of ink doesn’t create the exact prints every time as it misses the design. And a regular printer also crinkles out the thermal or carbon paper you want to use for the design print.

How Do Tattoo Artists Design Tattoos on Skin? All about Tattoo Stencils

Printers can definitely work as regular tattoo stencils. But you have to follow some steps as an artist to successfully draw a print of a tattoo. Before reading the steps, you must know that the papers like hectograph don’t work best with regular printers, and they require professional thermal printers.  Read About Michael Mayer Tattoos

Let’s have a look at these steps one by one:

    1. Connect Printer to Computer

To use the printer to draw the tattoo, you must make sure that you have a computer, and that computer needs to be connected to the printer; otherwise, you will not get the design on paper like thermal paper or carbon paper. Open the image once the design is created, and check whether you are satisfied with all the strokes.

    2. Position the Paper Into the Printer Tray

If you have some experience using the printer, then you know where to place regular paper to take out the print. Place the paper in that position on the printer tray. In the case of carbon paper, you must place the white side of the paper facing the printer head.

    3. Remove and Dry the Paper

Once you get a print of the design on the paper, you have to remove and then dry that paper. Let the paper dry for some time; otherwise, the ink will create spots on the paper.

    4. Cut the Design

Once the paper is properly dried and you remove the paper from the printer tray, then cut the required design, which is already drawn on the paper. The best way to cut the design is to remove the paper close to the edges of the design.

    5. Transfer the Design

This is the final step, in which an artist transfers the design after following all the upper illustrated steps. Stick deodorant is a good option to use to transfer the design to the skin of the client.

Hopefully, now you as an artist are ready to start your tattoo designing journey with our most precious words that will surely help you to understand all about tattoo stencils and how a printer could work as a good and a regular tattoo stencil.
